For Sale Forum Rules & Regs - READ BEFORE POSTING!

Post by SoCal Airsoft » Mon Sep 21, 2009 10:35 am

RULE #1. BEFORE POSTING IN FOR SALE YOU MUST POST AN INTRODUCTION IN THE INTRO SECTION!!!

For Sale
Got something to sell? Want to buy something? This is where it's at. If you find something that you might be interested in, we suggest first checking out the seller's reputation in the Feedback section.

• STATE YOUR LOCATION
Since this is a SoCal board, many people want to pick up their merchandise in person rather than pay shipping. If you're from out of state, this may be a determining factor on if someone expresses interest in your item(s) or not. Everyone has access to shipping calculators so BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR ZIP CODE.

• POST A PRICE
All posts will be deleted without warning if you do not post a price.

• POST WHAT YOU WANT IN TRADES
Be as descriptive in possible when asking for a trade, like listing

• POST A CLEAR & DESCRIPTIVE TITLE
Please post "WTB" (Want to Buy), "WTS" (Want to Sell), or "WTT" (Want to Trade) in your thread header. (Example: "WTB - TM AK-47").

• COMBINE ALL YOUR ITEMS INTO ONE THREAD
If you have multiple things to sell and/or buy, combine all your items into one thread. Each member should only have 1 thread in the "For Sale" forum in order to help us keep an eye on things. If you are selling AND looking to buy items simply separate the two "sections" with titles such as "Items for Sale" and then a list of those items, followed by "Looking to buy" followed by a list of those items.

If you have sold or bought everything in your thread, please edit your original post and change the title of your thread to "DELETE ME" so we know it is safe to remove your thread, otherwise we have no idea if your thread is still active or not.

• NO EXCESSIVE BUMPING
Excessive bumping (anything more than once every 48 hours from THE last post, NOT YOUR last post), will cause your post to be locked. This also includes "bumping" your thread to indicate a price change, if something has been sold or if you are adding something. This includes replies to questions. Please either wait 48 hours to reply in your thread, edit your intial thread with more concise info, or PM the person the answer. See next rule.

• POLICE YOUR ORIGINAL POST
If you have sold/bought an item or are adjusting prices on your items, please edit your ORIGINAL post and remove those items in order to avoid confusing potential buyers/sellers. Please do not simply put "SOLD" next to the original item(s) - many people don't notice that, so removing the item(s) is the way to go. Also please avoid just posting a reply saying that they have been sold (or you have bought what you were looking for) - everyone is looking at the first post in your thread for what's available. If you have sold or bought everything in your original post, please edit your original post and change the title of your thread to "DELETE ME" so we know it is safe to remove your thread, otherwise we have no idea if your thread is still active or not.

Likewise, if you are adding new items to be bought or sold to your thread, please edit your original post and add the new items there - again everyone is looking at the first post in your thread for what's available.

• AIRSOFT ITEMS ONLY
Airsoft items for sale only! You may trade non-airsoft items as payment for items for sale here, but you may only sell airsoft goods.

• NO REAL-STEEL OR LIVE AMMO
No real steel and live ammo sales allowed!

• KEEP REPLIES ON-TOPIC
This board is not your own personal AIM chat, so don't use it as such. If your post isn't going to contribute to the topic, don't post it. You can add a postscript to your reply, but it better be a postscript, and not the only thing you post. In other words, don't just reply to a thread about a gun review and say "Nice new avatar Joe!". If you've nothing to contribute about the topic, PM the person instead.

• NO DOUBLE-TAPPING POSTS
Do not "Double-Tap" posts. This is when one person posts something, then, if they have something more to say, instead of editing their original post, they put another fresh reply after their first one. (aka: Back-To-Back Posting). It's a cheap attempt to bump up post counts, and the secondary one will be deleted. Use the "EDIT" button on your initial post. It is your friend.

• LET THE MODS DO THEIR JOB
Let the Mods do their jobs. If you see something that needs to be brought to our attention, PM any of us with a link to the thread and who we need to take a look at, and we'll look into it. Do not try and mod the thread yourself with warnings, admonitions, etc. This is the #1 cause of flame-fests, and it's getting old.

• PG-13
No porn, or porn links will be tolerated. The written word can be as PG-13 as you like, but when it comes to images and links, let's strive for a "PG-13" rating.

• KEEP IT CIVIL
No personal attacks on people that are not meant in jest. Let's face it though, many of us are friends here, and like to roast each other's nutz on the coals from time to time, which is fine. However to avoid miscommunication (because no one knows everyone here, and new people join all the time), and to help the mods determine if someone's just busting their friend's chops or seriously flaming someone, please use emoticons to denote humor. The mods will make all judgments on what has crossed the line or not.

• LEGAL
SoCal Airsoft League and it's staff will, in no way, be held responsible for any transaction which takes place or initiated by an advertisement on SoCal Airsoft League and that previous info/ratings/feedback should be taken only as a guide. The SoCal Airsoft Management reserves the right to refuse access to anyone for any reason we see fit.
NOTICE: It is up to each individual seller to ensure that they are in compliance with CA Penal Code, Sections 12551 & 12552 regarding the sale or furnishing of airsoft guns (as defined in PC.12001) to a minor without the expressed or implied permission of the parent or legal guardian. Doing so is a misdemeanor, and while socalairsoft.com assumes no responsibility for enforcing the law, we urge and encourage all sellers to abide by all local, state, and federal laws.
Thanks for your cooperation SoCal. With your help, we can be a helpful asset to both the newcomers that are just learning our hobby, and the old-timers that want a drama-free community.
