Kong Power LIPO Battery

When I received the Kong Power Battery, a 2 cell 7.4 volt battery (KB -1922-2b, 1900 Mah/22c ) from the NAM (National Airsoft Magazine), courtesy of Howitzer, who told me that he had looked for reputable airsofters but having failed to locate any… was contacting me…LOL, I was skeptical, I had NEVER used a Lipo battery and let me tell you, The horror stories about Lipo batteries I had heard were… yeah horror stories.

The battery was small slim and rectangular and I really liked that, as a lot of the guns I have have a small battery compartment. You ever try fitting a nunchuck battery into the front end of a L85? There is almost NO room for it, but this battery fit in that small compartment with EASE! The battery almost weighed NOTHING which can be both a plus and a minus, a plus if you don't like the added weight of a big battery in your gun, and a negative if you're looking for that added weight.

Now some of you may be concerned with the low MAH of this battery, I spent an several entire days with the battery and never had a problem with the battery running low on juice, and this was in several of my guns. Over the next few weeks I used the Kong Power Lipo Battery in several of the guns I own. I used it in my TM Thompson, my CA SLR, My TM Aug, and my CA M249. Each time I used it flawlessly, after long bursts I took the battery out and felt it, and it again wasn’t even warm to the touch. THAT impressed me and several people who asked me about the battery.

I never noticed a slow in my ROF during the time I used the battery in my guns, as I do when I use my regular batteries, indicating that the battery was getting low.
During charging the battery never got hot to the touch at all the way most ncad batteries do when you charge them. It charged in about an hour on my first full charge and after that has only taken about 25 to 30 minutes since that initial charge.

The fact that the battery provided to me was able to fit in such a wide variety of my guns was a HUGE plus. Even in the guns with small battery compartments, the battery fit with not a problem at all. The battery was reliable and I wasn’t afraid to use it in any of my guns, and will continue to do so.

lithium polymers batteries are inexpensive and will last a very long time if taken care of properly.
lithium batteries are the way of the future battery wise in my opinion at this time especially in airsoft. They are small and powerful at the same time two birds with one stone. R/C forums is a good source of information to learn about lipos as well because they have been using them a lot because you can get a lipo for 20 bucks from china that will work. Also Life batteries are coming into popularity too. I think precautions are important but lipos really don't have to be feared as they are because of the horror stories.

pretty good review
